I appreciate the effort to acquire and upload this, so thanks.
But for anyone else suffering through sub-10kBps downloads, don't get your hopes up. There is some AI/robot-like acting, but no open panels or any repair kinds of scenes. Worse, though, is that it appears to be a Disney-quality TV movie. The dad is eventually seduced by the robot thinking she's his wife, and –Â as best I can tell – had sex with their clothes on. Now, I don't speak German (
Google translate says "Mich gibt es nur zweimal" is German for "Me there is only twice") which, in this case, I think a blessing. I imagine the dialog is just as eye-rollingly horrid as the plot.
I was just reading a
blog post from Roger Ebert about how people like for the universe of movies to be internally consistent. I got a bit disturbed that this supposed household-helper/robot-copy company made a robot that gets curious about eating (and safely eats everything –Â apparently it has some kind of digestive system despite running [also?] on electricity) and it can do a LOT of its own free will, much to the detriment (and, for one screenwriter, humor) of the family that bought it.
