What is it about? This changes the programming of the T-X
to make her actions more plausible.

Cuts removed/added/extended:
* Sgt. Candy scene restored as a pre-credits sequence. Closes with the signature drum fanfare I worked-up for the Cyberdyne scene in T1.
* T-X downloading John’s lieutenants is cut, so it looks more like she’s uploading the virus through the LA mainframe. (Since we start hearing about it afterwards, this works really well. It makes the T-X’s primary mission to ensure that Judgement Day actually happens).
* The names of John’s lieutenants are cut during the two assassination scenes, so it looks like she’s systematically taking out potential John Connors, much the way the T-101 did in T1 with Sarah.
* Her “gasp” after sampling “the real” John Connor’s blood is removed, because she wouldn’t have an emotional reaction like that.
* T-101’s explanation of the Lieutenants during the “escape” is removed. It is left in later as it sets up the events at Skynet without detriment to the story. She simply is carrying out another default program having failed to terminate John and Kate.

Conceptual improvements/advancements of edit over original:

In the end, the T-X is a much more logical machine now. Her default program is now:
1) Upload virus that sets chain of events into motion that brings Skynet online
2) Eliminate John Connor (to her analysis, she did, since those “in the system” were taken out).
3) Eliminate Kate Brewster
4) Eliminate Robert Brewser after Skynet is activated
5) Eliminate top lieutenants
-> Upon carrying out #3, she gets concrete evidence that #2 was not completed.
-> If 2 and 3 are not accomplished in time to execute #4 by 6:18 p.m., execute the time-sensitive task of #4 before resuming 2 and 3 or proceeding to #5.

Of course the only good thing about T3 was T-X and, of course, was the only thing that was any interest to this community (I want one!). The Sarah Connor Chronicles was full of plot holes as well - for example, if the terminator dude could hide a gun in his leg why didn't he bring something else back. He used a Glock when even now we have Frag 12 rounds for our military. But I'm going to try to just kick back and enjoy what ever elements I can get my kicks from. :D

Well, as one who enjoys time travel fiction I feel I should point out that all stories that involve altering the past have huge plot-holes. They're called paradoxes, and whether it's the terminators trying to kill John or the humans trying to destroy Skynet it all amounts to trying to alter a (future)present that already happened. I know from the POV of the films it's altering the future, but if we accept that the terminators and Kyle have come from the future then the point of reference is set as the time in which they travel back from.
Anyway, the Terminator movies actually work quite well together as a whole, minor points of contention aside. In the first, Kyle is successful in protecting Sarah (and the timestream) with just the issue of his dying before he's born and the future tech left behind. In the second, Sarah and John supposedly destroy Skynet. Now for those who don't want to think about it, this is a nice neat ending. But if we do think about the ramifications of Skynet not existing we realize that the whole franchise falls apart. No Skynet means no Kyle traveling back and consequently no John and so on. The only thing they could do to have any plot integrity was have a film showing Judgment Day as inevitable.
You may not like the third film for various superficial aspects, but it actually has a more logical plot than the second. I'm not suggesting that you can only enjoy a film if it contains some kind of consistent movie logic, you should never have to explain why you like one thing over another, I just felt the need to point out that T3 is not the unnecessary, worthless sequel it's made out to be.

It's all about action scenes. The rest is meaningless.

That's what I was trying to say in a very oblique manner at the end; if you like a movie that's all that matters, you don't need reasons. Just as you don't need reasons to dislike a film, but having a well thought out explanation of your position can help others decide if they want to invest time in it or not.
