Also, there are print ads now for the Honda ASIMO droid (this is the four-foot walking unit that looks vaguely Star Wars stormtrooperish) posed amidst a typical happy family. Found myself hoping the wife and/or daughter were also to be revealed as robots, but blast it all, no luck yet...).

Two magazine tidbits
Hola', ya'll. Just recently found two tiny lil' teasers in some magazines. First off, Discover Magazine's March ish features an article by Christine Kenneally entitled: "AIBO as Research Tool". Though the piece is about the toy dog, the intro line is fetching: "Sony's AIBO robotic dog is a peek at a bizarre future when you won't know if the dog--or the pretty girl walking it--is flesh and blood or plastic and memory chips."
Unfortunately, no further mentions of gynoids, but there ARE some interesting interior views of this mecanical pooch (sorry, I do not have scanner capabilities).

I thought we were friends. How could you do a thing like that? I was just going to fix coffee.
