Is she a robot? Are they both?
The trailer did a good job of not revealing any secrets.
It says here "
The story follows a young woman as she forms a bond with a highly advanced AI companion, leading to a profound exploration of what it means to be human. "

That plot point could be from an earlier version of the film, or likely a red herring placed there by the production team to distract people from figuring out the plot before release.
It's produced by Zach Cregger, who wrote and directed Barbarian, which I liked a lot, in large part due to having crazy (and a little hilarious) plot twists
With that kind of pedigree, I assume that they are lowkey not revealing the fact that either or both of them are human-like androids, so they can save that as part of a larger reveal that fucks with the viewers expectations, much like Barbarian did, revealing a supposedly thriller-slasher to be actually a Sci-Fi movie halfway through the film.
It could be an "Abigail" style twist in that maybe Quaid is a sadist/serial killer that tortures a woman he *doesn't* know is actually an android, or they could both be sleeper androids fucking with each other who reveal themselves to be robots after they are severely injured, or Quaid could be an A.I. trapping Thatcher's character (Though that scene with her letting her arm and hand catch fire while hoilding back tears and the urge to scream seems designed to mislead you into thinking she's human, while hiding in plain sight the fact that she may just be an android designed to FEEL).
