Story Announcement: The Galatea Syndrome (Reimaged)

Post by Gorgo » Fri Apr 29, 2011 10:53 pm

To everyone here,

While still being on medical leave from work due to a recent bout of osteomylytis that cost me my second left toe this time around -- and most likely remaining on leave until the end of May -- I've been busy writing new stories and looking over old stuff I've done.

One of those old stories is one I believe many people here will be familiar with: The Galatea Syndrome.

For those who don't know of this story, this is the first ever ASFR-influenced anime lemon fanfiction work. Based on the series Urusei Yatsura and drawing elements from my first ever Internet-published fanfiction series (The Senior Year, which I co-wrote and co-created with my friend Mike Smith), it is a sort of anti-Stepford Wives story which saw the whole female population of Tomobiki transformed into sex gynoids that were virtually at the mercy of their male family, friends and fellow Tomobikians until Moroboshi Ataru (the male lead of Yatsura) discovered what was going on and managed to get everyone free with the help of an alien race that was sympathetic to what had happened and wanted to help out. In the midst of doing this, Ataru does something rather nasty -- he unleashes a bio-warfare agent that was guaranteed to murder many of the men who had taken advantage of what had happened -- which, when he realises what has happened, made him kill himself . . . but not before he himself was transformed into a gynoid (who was given the rather unimaginative name "Atako") and allowed to live on, thus making a lot of people (especially Ataru's "wife" Lum) quite happy.

Now, to properly conform to the rules of this site, I intend to shift the timeline of this story until after the main protagonists become of age and graduate from high school; in other words, they would be of age as seen in most countries worldwide. Atop that, I'm going to be doing some name changes (for example, I'll give Ataru's female-self the name Tariko [literally "child of the other village"] as the original name was inspired by the "Ranko" nickname given to the female alter-ego of Saotome Ranma [from Ranma 1/2]), plus tweak up the continuity to make sure it better conforms to Yatsura continuity and character backgrounds.

To that end, the timeline will go as follows:

Tag Race One (as depicted in the first Yatsura manga story, "A Fine Catch") occurs when Ataru is 16 years old, in or around October, which will be the fall term of his second year (Grade 11) at Tomobiki High School. Lum is the same age.

Tag Race Two (as depicted in the last Yatsura manga story arc, "Boy Meets Girl") occurs when Ataru is 17 years old, just a little over one year later, which is the fall term of his third year (Grade 12) at Tomobiki High School.

The Conspiracy unleashed by the Shôzoki (the villians in this story) will begin just after the New Year, attacking all adult women 18 years old and above. As the aliens who live full-time in Tomobiki (Lum, Lum's cousin Ten and Lum's old childhood friend Ran) are underage, they will not be affected (thus also guaranteeing that races such as the Urusians [Lum's people] don't learn what is happening).

Lum and Ataru's female peers will be transformed after they graduate from Tomobiki High School, just before Ataru's 18th birthday. Around this time, Ten (who, for those who don't know the story, is a young boy) is expelled back from Earth. Lum and Ran would be transformed into gynoids as "graduation presents," plus also to control any possible news getting out about this.

Ataru himself will not learn this story for over a whole year, until the summer after his 19th birthday. By this time, people such as Mendô Shûtarô's sister Ryôko and Mizunokôji Tobimaro's sister Asuka will have been transformed (again, after they graduate from high school). That is when the story's various flashback scenes will begin.

The Shôzoki are removed from Tomobiki by mid-summer. Ataru would unleash the biowarfare attack on his male peers at the end of summer, thus guaranteeing that there can be no move back to the "Stepford" situation that had haunted Tomobiki for almost eighteen months ever again!

The guilt over what happened would eventually kill Ataru by Christmas, though Tariko would be "born" on the following New Year's Day, just four months prior to "her" 20th birthday.

The main story begins on Tariko's twentieth birthday (which will be moved up to modern times and set for 13 April 2011).

Again, just to reassure those who are concerned about this, no underage gynoids will appear in this new version of TGS.

I hope to have the first part posted here and elsewhere soon.

Cheers!
