Who's the most famous ASFR character?

Post by mister_minations » Sun Mar 07, 2021 2:50 pm

Out of pure curiosity, who's the most well-known female robot character in media? Well, not necessarily "robot" since I guess gynoids, cyborgs, GMOs, and magical constructs count.

This idle question includes comics, cartoons, manga, anime, visual novels, literature, paintings/sketches/digital art, sculpture, porn, Hentai, blasphemies against all that is holy and pure, web original content, podcasts, live-action film, live-action television, and memes.

I think that question depends a lot on the demographic group asked.

I am on the demographic that would say that XJ9 is the most exploited robot for ASFR motifs and beyond.
Others could say it is 2B from Nier Automata or Aiegis from Persona 3 ( both videogames).
Others might even point to content creators such as Zedrin oc.
Manga characters like Alita from GUNM or Motoko Kuzanagi from GITS.

Beyond that, I have no idea.

I'll byte ;).

Mainstream most famous robot cyborg gynoid is Seven of Nine, hands down. There's even a parody created character of her, Six of One from Tripping the Rift. I can't think off the top of me head of any other robotic, cybernetic character that was so famous that another robotic character was created because of that character. Then other characters I would say the Borg Queen(s) lol. Then the T-X terminator. Then Siri lol. If that program gets a mobile platform, watch out! She knows everybody's dark secrets that have fruit phones, AKA Apple phones.

Now my personal famous robotic character it switches up for me between Anna from Gen 13 or Aphrodite IV because she is more hard core than Aphrodite IX. Then Ivana Baiul, I like gynoids, but Ivana is an exception since she was shot through the head and was still able to function.

Probably the first true fictional fembot.
Maria from Metropolis.

Young and old, pretty much everyone in the ASFR comunity knows about her or at least has heard of her.

How do you guys justify "gynoids" that are just women in latex costumes with no discernible robotic actions or character tics? Are those characters still considered ASFR, or are they just considered people in skintight clothing?

Also, as a side note, my first gynoid/fembot/cyborg fascination was with the Borg Queen from Star Trek: Voyager. Specifically, I was unhealthily obsessed with how she...well...how she died. Something about dying to a force completely outside your control, something that turns your body against you, is terrifying. Dying to something that stretches seconds into eternities, watching every inexorable moment passing by, taunting you as you body rots away and mind breaks into pieces. It is a death without dignity that will be soon forgotten; everything you've ever worked will vanish in the blink of an eye...

Also, a lot of Sci-Fi tropes seem to start with either Doctor Who or Star Trek, so I was wondering if the Borg Queen was that well-known of a character.
That said, no love for the toaster waifu?
