Sometime ago, I wrote a short story called "The Muhammad Script" and eventually put it up for sale on Amazon's kindle store. Basically, it's about a young screenwriter pitching a very respectful biographical script about the Prophet to Hollywood and getting shot down.
Now, in light of the current protests on U.S. embassies, spurred on by a disrespectful film about the Muhammad, I'm wondering if I should pull my story. Granted, the story isn't really about Muhammad or Islam at all; the subject of the fictitious script is just a MacGuffin to lead into a bit of satire about mainstream American entertainment. However, it could be construed to be in bad taste, both to Muslims and to the victims of the protests and their families.
What do you folks think?
I have a moral dilemma.

Re: I have a moral dilemma.
In light of the recent protests, I'd suggest pulling it. Even if it isn't directly about Muhammad or Islam, it could still be misconstrued as being about one or both topics just from the title.

If you feel that PC then, yeah, pull it. You don't need to put yourself at risk either. If you feel that people have the right to free speech and you don't mind being a target then stay strong, man.

I'm not afraid of being a target (certainly not with how it's doing in sales!
...
); I just don't like the idea of being offensive for offense sake.

If you pull it, you may earn a conspiracy theory as reward. Worth it?

If it were me and I'm not Politically corrupt I'd stick a " - " in it so you'd have MOMOmad - "young screenwriter pitching to Hollywood and getting shot down" giving more information and if they find that offensive too bad after all it is an actual name, just like there would be nothing wrong with "the jesus script- a young undocumented person tale of picking cucumbers while wearing a wet shirt" nothing wrong at all and even more informative.

Re: I have a moral dilemma.
I expect the decades of massive unemployment, poor education, abuse by their own State, and/or abuse by the United States, etc., leads to frustrations that must manifest in some form.
From outside their tenets, it seems too easy to stare at the specific focus, and turn away from the failures of the national system. The ones who protest may all be worthless in some people's eyes, fine - but for each of them, how many times more innocent live in that same intolerable misery?
Drain the swamp, fix the conditions, means unless the youth are given the prospect of prosperity, this will always happen. Otherwise, denied a future, a mob of ghosts is capable of worse than just any mob. There's no tomorrow for them, either way. Severe desperation can breed a madness, I reckon that's a facet of human nature.
But - but - but!
Keep in mind, Libya is now thought to have been a terrorist attack, sprung when the mob made for a good distraction.
Don't use the M-word, 'cause it's kinda like the N-word.
Is it so wrong that each aggrieved group have their own -word?
