Yeah, I know it's not for everyone. Each person has their own place in our little community here, what turns them on or what they like, and each author can write their story the way they want. I just...sometimes I reach a breaking point, y'know? The robot, especially the sentient one, always dies at the end of the film, or at some point in the series, or whatever, and it makes me feel so bad and depressed like there's no hope for me. and i guess it may be possible for Sarah that she is just programmed or designed to be autonomous to be a self-controlled unit, rather than because she is sentient, having a soul like a human

For this story, I never intended any of them to be sentient. They are more like the Robots from soccer mom unit by RB man and obsolescence D.Oliver. They appear sentient, when in reality they are just really well programmed.

I like how they attempt and ultimately fail at passing for human more than them being almost flawlessly human. But that's just me

and yes, i agree with you, we humans and other animals, insects, cells or viruses (biological forms) are indeed with "some" different programming.
and i believe machines would have souls someday.

I would say souls but I'm a different sense. Like let's assume Christianity is correct. Our souls would go to heaven or hell. But Robots soul would die with the robot.

In the case that all religions are wrong, then there is no soul to begin with. Just the mind. That would then make the difference between us big and small at the same time.
