V.I.C.I inbound (not a story)

Post by DukeNukem 2417 » Sat Feb 14, 2015 3:24 pm

RIGHT.....it's been a while, hasn't it? Things happen, projects get delayed, life gets in the way....and I've been told, by more than a few people, that not everyone comments on my work for a few reasons. One, there are WAY too many characters, and two, the "S" from ASFR is noticably absent.

I'll leave you to consider how I'll get over the second problem.

As for the first....I HAVE considered a "VICI-pedia", as some of you have requested. I actually have a list with five bullet-points apiece for every important and semi-important character so far, but five bulletpoints ain't enough, in my own opinion. Thus, my project for the rest of this year is to reread my own work and compile the closest possible to definitive articles on each character, term, company and anything else anyone else wants to know about.

Now, as for "Beast"---the latest story---it's 54 pages long at last count, and will be posted before Easter. That, I can pretty much guarantee.

I'm not quitting, I'm not "burnt out", and I'm not pissed off at everyone who doesn't comment---I'm just waiting for them to reread some of the older stories, poke around for a few dangling threads....see if they can figure things out. Spaz did me a great favor by posting all my stuff on the wiki (even if there's been a problem with the formatting---not his fault), and I've actually rewritten the first VICI Diaries story (re-edited is mroe accurate---that thing had some BAD lines in it) and will be doing my best to rework the second story to make it a bit less derpy as well.

V.I.C.I isn't done, and neither am I.

She's just been on an extended leave of absence....and she's REALLY looking forward to a big comeback here on FBC.

I, for one, couldn't agree with her more. 8)

welcome back, and i see what your saying with the second problem, in all honesty i think iit'd be an intresting add to the plot, im not saying make her a robo hooker, maybe do that in the aspect of what if she falls for someone and they experience that moment when they connect, several ways you could use that to your advantage, said person could become a distraction on her mission performance, he could turn on her and never loved her at all causing her to experience love and heartbreak. or perhaps the most dramatic loss of the one she cared for had feelings for and was intimate with. i dont think its a necessarily a bad thing to add sex to it, just put it in the context of someone she loves, like exo saves the day, he truely cared for her and went to great lengths to save her, it was still romance and action with that intimate element.

but thats just a thought duke, either way love the work and v.i.k.i, keep it up

I was thinking maybe you could have her fall for someone and they end up being a covert android sent my some mysterious party to observe her and they still manage to fall in love.

Glad to see you're still at it, Duke!

For the "S problem" - it doesn't even need to be focused on "V". And it doesn't even need to be literal sex, since sexy malfunctions are well appreciated!

I also agree with Spaz and Mangaman that a romantic plot could work.

Also glad to see you're still in the game!

VICI is a real mainstay story of the board (imho). Personally, I do find the breadth of characters and backstories daunting and have not invested the time to get on top of the vast amount of detail - my loss since it is clear that there is much to explore. I enjoy reading the stories and will be glad to see them return, even though I am guilty of speeding through the plot driven elements to get to the fembot parts (sorry!)

As for S - I don't think blatent sex is a requirement for a sexy story, especially when it comes to robot girls. For me, the occasional scenes of maintenance or malfunction have an erotic appeal because they are in contrast to the main character's normally strong, independant and reliable behaviour. She doesn't need to melt down in orgasmic sparkes to remind us that she is a machine from time to time, with all that implies...

You did include a fembot character in one more recent episode who was having some difficulties with her 'pelvic systems' as an aside to the main story. I thought they way you introduced that sexual element - matter of fact with occasional references in dialogue - was perfect. The situation of that character and the reactions of the others carried posed open questions for the reader about the sexual mechanics of the remaining robotic characters without the need for explicit scenes.
