I recognized Road Rash as soon as you described it despite never having played it myself--the concept is just that distinctive to me--though this line threw me:
Anyway, great little quickie. Chantelle's malfunction was brief and well described (I happen to quite enjoy the idea of a less intelligent robot malfunctioning when trying to do something outside of her programming), and I appreciated the way you worked the game in without it feeling forced, awkward, or downright gimmicky. I guess I'm not the only one who finds the concept of a robot playing video games amusing!
The only mainstream retro controller with numbered buttons that I can think of is the Sega Master System's, which labels its face-buttons as 1 and 2, and the Road Rash series wasn't even around at the time. =P“The numbers on the buttons correspond to the numbers on the screen that I had you memorize just now.” he said.
