Help making animtion for YouTube vids

I've started making YouTube videos, recording my VH sessions and posting them.

I'm trying to run a moving image over them, using a animated GIF, but it doesn't get saved as animated. It just sits there, like in that first one.

I'm only using Windows Movie Maker, as it seemed the easiest (and cheapest) one to use, but if anyone's get a better (and still free, preferably) tool, let me know.

Or if anyone just knows an easy way to slap an animated GIF to an MP3 and make it a movie, let me know?
