The movie "Replacement"

Post by gyn2010 » Mon Nov 16, 2009 11:49 pm

I found some photos on flickr yesterday. Under the photos you can read this:
I was the production designer for this wonderful short sci-fi film by Michael Reisinger, entitiled, "Replacement."

I couldn't find anything more about the movie so far... I think Michael has a vimeo account but nothing interesting there...

Looks promising. :D

Searching IMDb real quick and there's apparently an entry now (I mistakenly called it "Replacements" which doesn't find it.) A few new things on his Vimeo page including a Director's Reel with some clips from Replacement, but just a few seconds worth.

This is a great clip. I really enjoy the bot's speech patterns. Hope more of this surfaces.

Seconded. Kinda reminded me of SHODAN from the old System Shock games for some reason. Her voice still gives me the chills...

"Lo-lo-look at you, hacker-r-r..."

Yikes.

Thanks for the tip.
I thought the movie was very good. I just wish there were more of it.

I thought the story was a little lacking, but the effects were great. I did empathize with the lack of progress in making the robot come-to-life, and also found it compellingly realistic. I work with microcontrollers from time-to-time and have not bothered to use (fancy) debugging tools, so my projects are typically mired in a bizarre non-functional state until I fix the right bug that makes a huge chunk of the code come to life.

And if I were so close to making the artificial girlfriend with the silicone and the lips and the HOYVIN-GLAVIN! I'd never leave the house.
May your deeds return to you tenfold,
