Hello everyone. I’m trying to remember a Japanese live-action TV show or movie (probably from the 2000s). What I recall:
The protagonists are a “family” of humanoid robots/androids — they look entirely human at first.
There is a female “robot girl/woman” among them, and a human teenage/young male with whom she has an intimate or emotional moment. At some point, the boy discovers she’s a robot.
At one point, the female robot malfunctions while at the house; the robot family gathers and checks on her.
In the finale, the female robot transforms into a huge rocket or space-rocket (the special effects were low-budget — I remember her face visibly in a “window” of the rocket as it blasts off).
The setting is a rather normal, present-day Japanese city (i.e. not obviously futuristic or sci-fi with visible robots around).
Does this ring a bell for anyone? Maybe a TV special or one-episode drama?
Any help or leads about title, broadcast station, approximate year, or even screenshots/memories would be much appreciated.
