Robot Avengers comic coming later this year

I'm guessing Monica Chang is either a gynoid or a cyborg---same with Alexis.

I want to see how they run with it. Interesting set up just the same.

I was hoping for Stem Cell from Livewires myself. Or any of the Livewires.

And Hank Pym isn't even a robot! This is no Pet Avengers, no sir.

Though now I'm trying to think up a Justice League of Robots, and all I'm coming up with are Red Tornado and the android Hourman. Granted, those are both pre-nu-52, so who knows what's what anymore with DC.

Tomorrow Woman was a gynoid.

Maybe there is more info out there. Either that or the writers are being tight-lipped about the whole issue.

Oh, I know, and I LOVE TW. The fact is, though, that she's "dead" (as much as that means anything in comics), and no effort has been made to bring her back, so I'm willing to let her stay dead. She had a nice meaningful sacrifice, and bringing her back would cheapen that somewhat.

Um, Hank Pym is probably on the team because he's one of the Marvel universe's leading experts on robotics and artificial intelligence (and biology and particle physics etc etc). He's probably there as the team leader, which sounds pretty cool to me. Hank Pym is great when done right. Unfortunately, most people don't know what to do with him and just make jokes about spousal abuse.

Alternatively, he's on the team so that all the other robots can make sure he doesn't create any MORE insane robots (See: Ultron et. al).

Machine Man was probably too foul mouthed for this squad. Although why Jocasta isn't on it I'll never know. (Unless she gets exploded in the most recent Ultron crossover or something.)

... Wat. I'm assuming this was sometime after 52, as that's when I stopped reading on a regular basis.

And really, at the risk of sounding victim-blamey, that was kinda Jan's fault. "He's become mentally unbalanced, so NOW is the perfect time to trick him into marrying me! ... Ow!" 1970's comics weren't exactly a high point for feminism.

... Wow. That sounds really... mediocre. Hopefully that got erased in the reboot.

There's the entire "Metal Men" team, with each member named after a different metal. I don't know if they have shown up in the New 52, though.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metal_Men

There were also Red Tornado's "siblings", who were androids. Red Inferno and Red Torpedo come to mind off the top of my head.

You also have cyborgs like, well, Cyborg.

And I think it's a crime that Jocasta isn't on the Avengers A.I. team. How is that possible?

Yes, but they're their own team. I guess Robotman would count, even though technically he's a cyborg.

Red Torpedo in main continuity was never a robot, to my knowledge. He was your typical Golden Age hero with a gimmick.

I have been waiting for something like this ever since the last issue of Livewires. I doubt it will be quite as gonzo, but then again, a Doombot is on the team and I can't wait to hear the explanation on that.
"If the time should ever come when what is now called science, thus familiarized to men, shall be ready to put on, as it were, a form of flesh and blood, the Poet will lend his divine spirit to aid the transfiguration, and will welcome the Being thus produced, as a dear and genuine inmate of the household of man."

DOOM shall be on this team because it serves DOOM'S purposes, of course.
