Aurora

Aurora appears in the Black Looks episode of the Astroboy manga and its animated adaptations (as well as possibly in the live-action animated Tetsuwan Atom series from the late 50s). She is a fully adult appearing robot nurse who takes a little orphan boy under her wing only to be blown apart as she takes part in a rally. The boy grows up to become the master criminal Black Looks/Blackie Young, and hides his identity by wearing a black mask that makes him look like a tengu (a bird person, a mythical Japanese creature), complete with a long nose. At the end of the story Black Looks is reunited with Aurora who has been put back together by Astroboy's mentor, Dr. Elephant, a short man with a fringe of curly white hair and a big nose.
