Dragon ball z: light of hope trailer.
For a youtube live action series it shows more promise then that awfull movie a couple of years ago.

Seconded, please! Supposedly it's a sci-fi/soap opera/anime pastiche on Chinese legends? The only Dragonball Z I've ever watched, actually, was the androids saga, and without context for the rest of the show I'm afraid it made no sense.

A rapid succession of beings, each of which is the most powerful being in the known universe, fight each other because reasons. Each most powerful being is easily destroyed by the next one, but somehow they always get worn down by the main character, who is dead for much of the series. He gets better.

Also, collect all seven mysterious eponymous artifacts, summon the dragon, make a wish, rinse and repeat.

Brief example of an episode:

"Previously on Dragonball Z, Goku and Vegeta shouted at each other and flexed their muscles enough to make rocks hover around them. We now join them in the arena."

20 minutes of "Hnnnnngggggg!" and everyone in shock and disbelief at some display of strength.

"Next time, on Dragonball Z: 'Hnnnnngggggg!'"

WilloWisp, your description is most accurate. To sum it up, one could say it's a muscle-lovers fetish cartoon.

That's a pretty fair assessment of DBZ. There was a re-release a couple of years ago that cut out a lot of the filler scenes (and there was a LOT of filler to let the comic catch up). It's an early example of a lot of boys anime tropes and the re-release is good to watch if you like anime in general, but it doesn't seem like it would be interesting to the crowd here.

Overall, there was minimal robot content. Even the "androids" in one of the later story arcs were humans with artificial augmentations to bring them up to the level of the over-powered protagonists. The only female "android" even has a kid later on, and explains to the shocked characters that she was still mostly human. There was one artificial-based android, but other than a speech he gave before he "died", it's not worth mentioning.
