I have heard that similar experiments have been made on Cats, Roaches and Frogs. The Roaches are the ones I have heard the most about, however. It seems they want to use them for Search and Rescue and War-Time/Police Reconnaissance. But I don't know if the project panned out.

This could see the return of the Pigeon in use on the Battlefield. It would certainty be less conspicuous than a 20-foot fiberglass UAV.
