Anime: EVE no Jikan

Post by roachbob » Tue Sep 02, 2008 5:01 pm

(Apologies if this has already been posted. I'm juggling multiple forums at the moment, and can't keep track of what I've seen where)

Just noticed a 'new' anime floating around the torrent sites that might be interesting to folks around here: Eve no Jikan.

Best write up for it that I've seen so far lives at:
hXXp://subculture.animeblogger.net/2008/08/04/eve-no-jikan-act01-akiko/

Making a blanket judgement from the first episode, I have to say I like it.
I suspect it'll be a 'talking heads' series, but it's got some interesting ideas, nice designs, and absolutely Beautiful digital animation work.

...We'll see how it progresses. :D

In the midst of downloading it right now. You can go to http://www.animesuki.com to get the first episode. I'll pass on what my thoughts on it are when I see it.

Certainly has some material this board would be interested in, and some very nice art. Two points of concern: one, that whole digital camera/Cloverfield/bad focus thing gets really irritating, and two, there's a real risk that it could become really, really dull.

It's an interesting premise and a good look into a society that has come to accept androids as part of the social fabric. The interplay between the lead male characters in the cafe was quite amusing, especially when they also interacted with Akiko. I'm definitely looking forward to watching more of the series as it comes out.

I enjoyed the style, and found the plot and dialogue compelling.
