Manga and Anime

Post by Tio » Fri Jan 05, 2007 11:48 am

I am moving house atm to my Boyfriends place and during this I uncovered all my anime dvds and Manga novels.

Most of them are cyber / robot / fembot based. So I thought I would put up a list should anyone be looking for ideas of things to watch or read.

(They are all films unless otherwise stated)

Steel Angel Kurumi - cute and romantic

Maico 2010 - fembot adjusts to working life

Ghost in the shell (in all forms) - just brilliant but only if you like cyborgs

Armitage 3rd - Robot girl action

Battle angel alita - Beautiful in both book and movie form

Dr Slump - Old but funny, android girl adjusts to life surronded by crazy people

Catgirl Nuku-Nuku (old series is better) - Old but good, cat robot girl action

Chobits - Romantic, touching and wonderful. The books rock more though

Metal angel Marie - Interesting and romantic / funny

Key the Metal Idol - A beautiful reverse transformation story, old though

Xenosaga - Gotta love KOS-MOS

Appleseed - OK, shes not a bot but it rock anyway

Malice dolls - when sexroids get pissed off (3d animated)

Metropolis (I love this version)

Angel cop - bad cyborg and android police deathyness

Cutie Honey - android girl fights bad things, gets naked lots

Buttobi CPU (warning this is Hentai/ porn) - funny as all hentai is

Fight Iczer one - Old android girls fight

Dolls - A manga about Androids, this is so very inspirational. My fav series that got me into this whole technosexual thing in a big way.

Deus Vitae - A manga, very good books, about nature versus cyber evolution. Very sexy art.

Well there is my list. If you want to add anything please feel free.

Too bad DBZ isn't really worth watching past the Frieza saga.

Unfortunately as much as DBZ is fun to watch I find the art style to be awful that even a female droid couldn't make me find anyone in that style attractive. :(

Also droidlvr if you go to Wikipedia and read the blerb for Key Metal Idol, she does start out as a robot. It seems to depend on the way you look at it.

Well Tio, thanks, and really thanks, but I'm aware of how much many here even notice as evident in the lack of response on Key.
I shouldn'tn't've said a thing. Not into thinking it's an android only after 100 eps later it's really a tale about acceptance; etc'...

Thanks tho. :)

Love your pic so much,it's now in my "fembot" collection.Love any female that "gives", so that I can give back. :)
Whacha want ??
Hope there's another soon. You look good ! :)

What, no Saber Marionette stuffs?

Not manga or anime, but worth checking IMHO: Warren Ellis' "Mek", the art is a bit based on stereotypical anime, and somewhat bad, but the theme is good (body augmentation/modification, etc), and the writing is top notch. He has another completely different approach on the same subject in his Global Frequency (The issue drawn by Glenn Fabry), and there is cyborg sex in an issue of his Transmetropolitan. I love his comics, and his apparent technofetishism is just another one of the reasons.

Doom Patrol (various, especially Grant Morrison's run, AVOID John Byrne's run by all means) is also relevant, due to one of the main characters being a cyborg. In one of the issues one of his bodies becomes sentient, it is great stuff.

Hm. Not related at all, but I want to get Persona 3 as soon as it gets translated. It will apaprently include the expansion, and that will allow the player to get in a relationship with Aegis (the robot girl). And extra dungeons. That's always nice.

Am a fan of a series called "Rozen Maiden" about adorable dolls that must find human "mediums"

Apparently they must eventually battle untill there is just one to become "Alice" Guess its Dollys meet Highlander *giggle* but the dolls are so cute and its a funny series.

Believe most of them are on YouTube, so have a looksie.
Just make sure to not watch "Rozen Maiden Traumend" first, as that is the 2nd season.

Don't forget there is also a season 3 called "Rozen Maiden Ouverture" or it could just be an ova but it feels like a new season.

Anyway I also strongly aprove of the series "Hand Maid May" but then may be a little partial to that series.

I only want to say that the "Overtüre" part isn't a 3rd season it is just as you said an OVA...

it tells the past of Suigintou (my favourite dolls after Suiseiseki)

btw
I was looking forward to watch "Angel Cop" because on the list stand there would be an android (and i thought it would be a female one, but that thing was male... :( ) but that 6-part serie dissapionted me more and more too-.- it was some kind of interessting at the very first 2 parts (because the political background) but the last three parts was a "bloodshed-war" the only thing that u can see...

does anyone know more anime series with fembot/ female android / female robot or female cyborgs etc.. except the following listed ones?

Android ana Maico (Maico 2010)
Appleseed
Armitage 3rd
Ariel (deluxe) (NOT THAT MERMAID FROM DISNEY)

Humanoid-all that coffee

If you don't mind a race of robots called Matanoids,

Galaxy Express 999, Maetel Legend, some of Harlock.

IIRC the crew of the Queen Emeraldas, save Emeraldas hereslef, is composed entirely of androids.

I'm surprised that you don't have Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos up there.

Dangaio(original OVA series) had one android and there was the question if the three main girls(along with one guy) were or were not turned into machines.

Hades Project Zeorymer

One Piece-Multi and her sister.

Ambassador Magma-Moru the Rocket Humanoid.

Legend of the Spacefirebird-Olga the multiformed gynoid. She evn has a remote control.

Now into the manga

Zenmai Jikake no Tina
DOLL: The Doubles Fighters by Hirano
Superoid-H manga.

They are out there. You just have to know how tohunt for them.

I did not put down Junk-chan for one VERY good reason. 8 or 10 year old girl in appearance. and I'm not into lolita.

Here's one that gets skipped over.

Robotech II: The Sentinels and soon Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles

Hello, Janice Em.

Here's an old one if you can find the ONE episode with the robot girl.

Battle of the Planets/Gatchaman

And if you don't mind live action:
Mighty Lady-a series of shows.

somehow stupid, asing this after 4 years... but does anyone have a complete list of Anime/Manga etc with android/robot/cyborg/ etc ?
also how about adding visual novels with androids, robot etc. to the list?
best would be to avoid GINO...

Visual Novels:

Luna Sora
Mecha Mimi
Planetarian
Let's Mew Mew
R.U.R.U.R
Machine Maiden
(to bad most of them are still in japanese and there is no eng translation in sight T_T)

Add Bubblegum Crisis (both 2033 and 2040) to the list of shows with gynoids in it.

For a more modern, beautifully illustrated and philosophical one, try Time of Eve/Eve no Jikan.

And while I second Tio's endorsement of the original Nuku, I simply must plug the TV series as well. It has musical numbers! In EVERY EPISODE!

Also, I don't think I saw Gall Force on this list. Cally is cute, although she kinda gets blown up a bit. Don't worry! They'll make more! (Track down the omake/comedy episode too; hilarious.)

The Gundam 00F manga had a Haro that could project a cat girl fembot that had a sister that was a full cat girl fembot, IIRC.
