I suppose I should have understood the sale was for a limited time.
I'm not sure if we've ever seen a limited time offer posted here.
Since the text has been edited, I can't say how obvious the limited time aspect was.

Why would anyone continue a "Labor Day Sale" until, was it Thursday? Wednesday? Tuesday?

It took a while to decide to sign up.
Now I won't be making a purchase.

I would like to suggest that temporary sales be discouraged; but then again, I'm a sick and bitter man.

Why would you discourage temporary sales? I'm not sure if I'm following you correctly here but you're mad that the Labor Day sale lasted until Thursday (in essence giving people additional time to purchase) and then you're further upset that it was discontinued before you decided to pull the trigger? No offense man but if that's the case, that's all on you. Had it ended on Tuesday you would have still been in the same boat. Encouraging sales like this may bring that offer around again during a holiday weekend or something. Even if it's a sale that only lasts for an hour, the opportunity to purchase something at a reduced price is nothing but a good thing.

That's the nature of sales, they're temporary.
