New fx for robo/freeze projects

Willie has been working hard and he has started working on an fx to stone women into stone. This will also really do wonders for fembot movie to give a transformation scene some kick (as he can change the stone to metal)

My brother in law just showed me an app he has for his iPad and it's called Gotham City's Most Wanted:

This got me thinking that there must be some kind of simple program out there that can add a more detailed panel to a surface for a similar effect. I was reminded of an article I read a while back. I'm sure that the technology has gotten much better by now, although probably not much easier!
