You know what would be REALLY cool?

Post by Condor621 » Sat Jan 27, 2024 12:52 am

I mean, aside from a massive tech breakthrough making Androids an actual thing??

If you like a video, story, pic, or whatever... hitting the like button so people making content in this realm could kinda know that you actually like it... or saying, "Hey, thats cool!", or "I like that", "its neat" or... WHATEVER.... so the people who are MAKING THIS STUFF know that it's not just random views or journalists looking to shit on this community, or whatever.

Feedback of almost any kind is the only way we know this is reaching an audience that likes and appreciates it...

I yanked all of my vids down for a few days because I was re-evaluating if I actually wanted to continue creating stuff. If you don't like something, that's fine. But if you're a member of this board and viewing content over and over (as far as I know, that may be the case) and you can't even bother to hit a "Like" button or say, "Hey, dude, that was cool"... well, that is NOT cool. Just saying. I also have solicited requests and suggestions, and have made a couple of videos based on them.

If you DON'T like content, do the cool thing and keep it to yourself and move on. Working for 40 hours on something and paying several hundred bucks in real money for someone to tell you, "Your sound effect choices are goofy" or ""ITS NOT PERFECT" just makes me personally want to quit...

As I've said before, I am taking a metric shitload of time, effort, and MONEY to make stuff, as others here have done... and just a bit of SUPPORT in the way of... ANYTHING is super appreciated and keeps us wanting to make more..

Just a PSA from someone trying to do something different, that I thought was something we all were always hoping for.

Fire away if you disagree... It is obviously VERY easy for me to take MY content and... go elsewhere.

And if what I'm making isn't what this community likes or wants, well, that's cool too. Lets me know I should find other venues for creativity.

Be well.

Hi Condor,

I feel your frustration about feedback sometimes but I don’t see human nature changing…

I’ve come to terms with my output being received with deafening silence for the most part, less a few diehards. You’re right, it couldn’t be easier to just hit ‘like’ on a content post but people don’t. I think that’s relatively normal for forums anyway and probably more so here as people are often guarded about being into robots in a sexy way: lots of lurkers. I’ve noticed that the Discord server is much more lively and responsive but, to be honest, I don’t understand half of what they are on about there - wrong generation - and it’s a bit of a faff to link my images.

I hope you carry on with your efforts and continue to share them. The progress you’ve made is impressive and I’m sure you are inspiring other creators, even if they are not vocal about it. I’ve been into this for a long time now and I’m sure I’ve seen some of the themes, concepts and styles from the Fembot Central community trickling into mainstream media over the last 20 years or so as well as influencing one another. The way you are wrangling A.I. methods in support of your vision is pretty unique. There’s an ocean of pure A.I. content out there now which can occasionally throw out a good piece but generally lacks the human touch to carry meaning. Reading about the complexity (and expense) of your process it’s easy to see why most people just let the computer produce lazy crap for them!

Personally, I do this for my own satisfaction and to explore an idea which has bugged me all my life. Although feedback is a great boost and occasionally inspiring, I try to manage my expectations! Bizarrely, the biggest compliment I’ve had in a way is when a user on Deviant Art started ripping off all my manips (and some other peoples’) and posting them as his own so careful what you wish for! I’ve tried linking up with a few members for collaboration, proof-reading, ideas etc - always sincerely meant but rarely going far. I do try and like or comment on content posts but also often think ‘I must make this point’’ or get this idea across’ when I have time later, then don’t get around to it… Basically, my house has a lot of glass in it!

I’ve tried a few Patreon users looking for fembot digital art and images. From what I’ve seen your content would compete strongly and you seem to have a steady production rate. Maybe that’s the way forward, getting consumers to pony up for content. If you do go that way then I hope you keep a presence here too.

Apologies Condor. I love your stuff, but I rarely hit like on this board. I also don’t hit like on Discord either, but as BA said, it does seem like people are quiet here and more active there. Maybe it’s the fact you can see people typing. Who knows. I only really hit like on OnlyFans and LoyalFans because it helps promote content creators. So I should be doing it here.

As for critiques, I understand why people do it, but sometimes it comes off as ungrateful. I’ve ordered over a hundred customs and I can honestly say I rarely criticize what I get and when I do it’s because it’s categorically different than what I paid for. For example, getting a ten minute custom when it was supposed to twenty minutes. Stuff like that. For anything free, I’m happy with what I get.

Going back to the Fembot Central - Discord divide, I’ve actually seen people shut down critiques on the latter. I don’t think I’ve seen it here. What I have seen is numerous content creators get frustrated and quit and I hope that doesn’t happen to you.

Quoted short to not create a wall of text... Thank you for everything you said, coming from a Legit HOF'er in this realm, it is so appreciated you don't even know. As I said, I'm not looking for "Validation" or have a need to be heaped with praise... lol. Just, SOMETHING saying, "Like your stuff, keep it up"... just a simple like is enough to let me know that people are actually enjoying it. It makes it feel more worthwhile. A couple of posters here like dub, smalk, and a couple of others have been super supportive, but to see a Vid get hundreds of hits on Streamable with ZERO feedback at all is pretty dispiriting.

Hell, I WAS a "lurker" for a LOOONG time, and I'm just as guilty. When I finally decided to take the plunge... I've tried to comment or like things here to just let people know that the work and content is very appreciated.

Just FYI, I had another account here YEARS ago... the name was "Repairman Jack", and I wrote the short story "Thieves" what feels like another lifetime ago..

Be well!

I hear that. I was here under the same username from the start until 2009. Then I deleted myself - was told there was no way to delete my account - and didn’t rejoin until 2023. Between then I lurked and sadly watched as creators I liked got frustrated and quit.

People are right when they say the Discord server is a much better place for conversation, especially since you can break out and have one-on-one conversations in real-time.

Approval is nice, and constructive feedback is precious. It can be saddening when what you create seems to sink into the inky void without comment or reaction. In the end, though, I've concluded that the motivation for creating must come chiefly from within myself, and not from people's reactions.

How many (registered) people are still here more than once every few months anyway?

As many of us have different tastes when it comes to this fetish, you might be looking for feedback that simply isn't possible here anymore

I've learned over the years that this is not the place for feedback LOL. I don't know why, I know that I try to "like" something whenever I can because I know a like can go a long ways. Whenever I post a story, sometimes the only way I know if anyone even saw them is by the view count going up LOL Even though I didn't get any likes or feedback, I say to myself, "Well they keep looking at it so I guess that's good.' LOL I understand your frustrations though because of the time and money. I just try to enjoy doing it for myself and if anybody likes it, that's nice, if they don't, I don't care. I'm still going to do it regardless but people should also realize the motivation and intensity would go way up with a like here or there LOL

I think there is a huge truth in here in that what I'm creating isn't really what people are looking for HERE. Yes, there are robots and repair and damage... but I'm less into the "explicit" content that seems to be the niche that does best. I read the new story by Natalie, fantastic stuff... but that's NOT really my wheelhouse. Its just not my style, per se. My "Sara Confronts a Superior Machine" story is as close to that as I've gotten, and its the most well received views-wise... but not the direction most of my stuff goes.

Thanks for helping me open up a bit more to some self-awareness regarding this.

I mean, I can't speak for anyone else, but I think your work fits quite well here.

That being said, the fetish is quite diverse and I think that confuses many content creators. The custom content I order has a storyline - at least in my mind - and your content is what I like, albeit I think I like more malfunctions. I occasionally run into problems with some content creators when they've worked with other people in the community because they give me what other people like. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't.

I also think a few content creators got burned when they decided to try to make money making fembot content and were confused by the conflicting feedback they got and/or the lack of feedback/purchases. Evangeline von Winter, Ashley Fires, and Ani Erotika stand out as a few examples and I started warning content creators if they ask me about the market.

To be clear I never tell them no, I just say that the fetish is diverse, and therefore hard to appeal to everyone. I think of Ludella's fembot video for example.

That being said, I hate providing feedback like that because there is no way to make everyone happy in this community. Some of us like robotic fembots who act like machines, while others like fembots designed to be human. Some people want an in-depth story, while others like relatively simple content. Some people want malfunctions and nothing more, others like some old school porn mixed in.
