Covertly Mechanical: The people or robots who decided to make this Gynoid tried to make her as human like in appendices as possible. She has soft human coloured skin covering her entire body, human eyes. Any traits that would give her away as being a machine on the outside are (if present) small and discrete, typically concealable with regular clothing. (Example: Major Motoko Kusenagi, most shows with tight budgets with Androids)
Overtly Mechanical: This robot, while feminine and attractive is clearly a robot on a casual visual inspection. Her exterior is plastic and/or metal, joints are obviously mechanical and her eyes are black. Hair is either absent or a sculpted metal form. Her face might move or it might not. In any case she is clearly artificial. (Examples: Maria, EDI)
In general which one do you prefer in regards to your Fembots/Gynoids? I prefer the Overtly Mechanical one themselves.

Generally covert, but overt can also be quite nice depending on design. Something in-between can be cool too.

Uh, the former. Since I generally prefer the type of anime gynoids.
Which reminds me, why are there no pictures of Ilfa from ToHeart on the wiki?

Covert, that's always been the Stepford Way. Behaviors reveal her beauteous artifice.
But She can also have an overt state, in some degree undressed of her skin disguise,
like our dear friends, the original face-plate rip-off Fembots from the Bionic Woman.

Agreed, along with dale's assessment. I always liked a story where the mechanical nature of a fembot is revealed through conversation or a revelation like damage.Asato wrote:Uh, the former. Since I generally prefer the type of anime gynoids.

Also, I think I will get on that.
"If the time should ever come when what is now called science, thus familiarized to men, shall be ready to put on, as it were, a form of flesh and blood, the Poet will lend his divine spirit to aid the transfiguration, and will welcome the Being thus produced, as a dear and genuine inmate of the household of man."

Re: Covertly or Overtly Mechanical
Overt is nice, on occasion, but covert really gets my blood boiling, for some reason. Monotone voice, facial tics, and techno-babble to reveal her mechanical nature? Rrrrroooowwwr.

Both are great but I went for 'covert' since you set the bar at everyday clothes. I love the idea that under her blouse she's obviously fake...!
